Conversations of a Property Manager in Paris and Vacation Rentals
Why use a Property Manager?
I used to find it hard to define my duties as a Property Manager in Paris. Along from what is factual overseeing maintenance, scheduling, contractors, providing a positive outlook for all my tenants and mix in my work ethic; hello to the real world of vacation rentals. We'll get to all the stories and incidents at another time. I've been a self proclaimed property manager for over 15 years; a lifetime ago from the merry rat race of the New York City corporate world.
Yes, born and raised in NYC and I bring to Paris all of my experiences to a job that I'm still learning about Paris and to my associates, the skilled contractors I am proud to work with.

Why use A Property Manager? In Paris, the definition regarding your apartment, is "second home" and "pied-à-terre." The definition is simply to supervise and surveil. Duties might include sorting mail, visiting the apartment 2x-4x a month or hand off a key to a family member. At this point...your neighbour qualifies.
When I first meet a proprietor - I would recommend to interview each other, a sort of vetting. We exchange references and discuss the certain levels of responsibilities. "What are our goals?"
Our goals are vacation rentals, short-term and long-term rentals. My clients live in all parts of the globe and intentions vary. We could rent out an investment property or rent part time, so apartment is in constant use with tourists, friends and family members. My clients depend on reliability and the trust to do the job efficiently.
Property Managers show up. We're responsible for cleaning and contractor scheduling; to be present while any renovations are being performed. We meet deliveries. We introduce ourselves to our concierges and know thy neighbours for good will. We attend co-op meetings, and write reports or spreadsheets for our clients.
A Property Manager represents your interests in Paris or abroad.
